Attorneys - Jennie R. Romer

Jennie R. Romer earned her JD from Golden Gate University School of Law, where she was the managing editor of the Environmental Law Journal and a member of the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition team. Ms. Romer attended GGU as part of the evening program, and worked full-time during the day as a legal assistant at California Anti-SLAPP Project and as a litigation paralegal at Lexington Law Group. Ms. Romer also holds bachelor's degrees in Zoology, Environmental Studies and Black Studies from UC Santa Barbara, where she worked as a research assistant at the Cooper lab for stream ecology.

While in law school, Ms. Romer published a law journal comment entitled The Evolution of SF’s Plastic Bag Ban, which was cited by the California Court of Appeal. Since becoming a member of the California Bar in 2010, Ms. Romer has established herself as an expert regarding plastic bag ordinances and founded plasticbaglaws.org. In her spare time, Jennie enjoys gardening, city politics, attending public hearings, and finding creative ways to avoid using plastic bags.
