• Lead in Handbags, Belts, and Footwear: Proposition 65 enforcement action by the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) against manufacturers, importers and retailers of fashion accessories. CEH recently entered into an agreement with dozens of major players in the fashion accessory industry to reformulate their products to significantly reduce lead levels. The
Consent Judgment was entered by the Court on June1, 2010.
The Consent Judgment includes an “opt-in” mechanism that allowed other companies to participate in the settlement.

Great Expectations
Settlement: This settlement
resolves claims that Great Expectations (GE) used contracts that
violated certain California laws. The settlement provides for
payments to class members and requires GE to use contract forms that
comply with California law in the future. (Howells
