Comcast Peer-to-Peer (P2P) settlement:  First in the nation class action against Comcast for alleged breach of contract and false advertising arising from interference with subscribers’ use of peer-to-peer file sharing applications.  On June 29, 2010, the Court issued an Order For Final Approval in the Comcast case of a $16 million class settlement.  The Order For Final Approval is currently on appeal and distribution of the settlement proceeds is dependent on the outcome of the appeal.  For more information go to p2pcongestionsettlement.com. Lead in Handbags, Belts, and Footwear:  Proposition 65 enforcement action by the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) against manufacturers, importers and retailers of fashion accessories.  CEH recently entered into an agreement with dozens of major players in the fashion accessory industry to reformulate their products to significantly reduce lead levels. The Consent Judgment was entered by the Court on June1, 2010.  The Consent Judgment includes an “opt-in” mechanism that allowed other companies to participate in the settlement.  For more information on the "opt-in" procedure, go to Opt-In Information.  (CEH v. Great Expectations Settlement:  This settlement resolves claims that Great Expectations (GE) used contracts that violated certain California laws.  The settlement provides for payments to class members and requires GE to use contract forms that comply with California law in the future.  (Howells v.
